Lays - Mexico - Galacticos Star Wars Discs (1997)

In the United States, Doritos brand chips gave away 3D Star Wars discs. In Australia, they had tazos, that came not only in 3D, but also octagonal connecta-tazos, and special hologram tazos. The UK and Poland both had round tazos that could be interconnected. Mexico had Galacticos. These are not properly tazos, and not properly pogs, although they resemble them slightly. Galacticos are similar in shape and size to the octagonal Australian tazos. Galacticos however are paper-thin, printed on a very flimsy plastic. And unlike other countries, these were not protected when they were placed inside the bags of chips, making them somewhat prone to mild scratching.

Another unique feature of the Galacticos is the 3D image found on the back. The back of each Galacticos looks a bit like a game piece. In addition to the number (1-50) for the Galacticos, there is an area filled in with little red faces (the symbol of the chip company in Mexico) with a greenish spot mixed in with them. By using special red glasses provided on the chip bag, you can view the picture hidden among the little faces. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what the goal of looking at the little picture is, precisely. I imagine it is some kind of contest.

There are a total of 50 Galacticos in the set.
