I'm interested in starting a Star Wars "small item" mystery box, so I want to know how many people would like to participate. Please post a response or PM me if you are interested.

This "small item" mystery box would work the same as any other mystery box, but it would be limited to relatively small Star Wars toys and paraphernalia. I imagine people trading things like (but not limited to) extra McDonald's SW toys, unwanted loose (non-vintage) action figures, Pez dispensers, those red and blue mini-figurines, and the various SW things that well-meaning family members give for Christmas because "it had Star Wars on it, thought you'd like it."

The value of the items in the box would vary and would likely be subjective. For example, if we do this, I would start the box with several items including one item won from the Lay's "Can't Resist" campaign. To me that item was free, but to the right someone it would be worth $5-10.

The only prohibitions would be: No cards (We already have card mystery boxes) and no books (They are heavy).

Let me know if you're interested. We can further refine the parameters if necessary, and clarify any questions that may arise.

*** The 2nd round has begun: June 25, 2009

If the response rate is good -- 3 favorable responses within 12 hours of the initial posting is promising -- I'd like to start this no later than the 1st week of January.

I'm also thinking that it might be best if the first person I ship to thinks he/she will likely put in more than take out. That is to say, I think the box has a good variety to start out -- certainly enough good items to be worthwhile -- but obviously the bigger the selection the better the chances you'll find something you like.

If all goes well, I anticipate that the box will be good for at least two rounds (since person #5 could very well put in something that person #2 would like).

That's makes for the minimum of what I was hoping for, and frankly I figured the maximum would probably be 8. Plus, I've corresponded and traded with almost everyone who responded, and I must admit that the comparative level of familiarity promises a positive experience for everyone.

I'll PM each of you to get/confirm your address. I invite your thoughts on when to start: I'm eager to kick it off now -- strike while the iron is hot -- but I'm thinking 1) mail is heavy and slow this month, 2) people are traveling this time of year, so the box may get "parked" in one location longer than even the current recipient would prefer, 3) December has enough joys/surprises; postponing the surprise of a mystery box until January might be more satisfying. 4) It's not a sure bet, but it's possible my well-meaning Mom will give me something to put in the box. Smiler

So, I think I just talked myself into waiting to ship until January, but if you tell me otherwise, I'll send it! Cool

January is good. It is typically a slow month for most everything around here.

Seriously, it's en route to LSTJDI01 in Kentucky, and I expect that it will arrive there Wednesday since I selected parcel post over priority post.
