I purchased mine for $1.99 also and $2 shipping to the UK. Can't say better than that, if they end up being rarer and more expensive great, if they end up more common I haven't lossed out by paying ott prices.
Thanks for posting the link to the auction showing the card back, looks like it's a NY CC exclusive card.
Andy, are you sure? I can't see where it says that on the card, I see the Topps and Hyperspace Logo on the back but nothing to say it is a NYCC Exclusive. Normally you would have the conventon logo on the promo if it was.
Early auctions for new promos often hold this sort of information inaccurately.
I agree with jr2d2, the card probably isn't an exclusive.
Misinformation helps early auction sellers get bigger prices, though it is sometimes unintended. P1 cards are seldom exclusives. P1 is usually the hobby version of the card, widely distributed at shows, to dealers, etc. P2 is usually the retail version of the card. Any other numbers may or may not be exclusives.

It looks like unless there is a SDCC-only or other convention-only promo, there may only be a P1 for this set.
It does indeed look like it is the same promo unless there is an alternative version of P1 but I very much doubt that. I am a little disappointed as I heard it was going to be different promo, possibly even an exclusive. I already have this card and am also a subscriber to NSU so I'll be getting a duplicate I was looking forward to this issue for the Clone Wars promo but that has been dashed.
At least you get a nice article about the Clone Wars set.
It did say something about retail coins (3 different stores, 24 total)? Also, retail parallel cel cards (2 different stores, red and blue versions)? I didn't hear anything about them outside the magazine. At least not yet, but I would think the information would come up elsewhere this close to release date.
there are retail coins, 2 per bonus box that will be available at Toys r us, walmart and target, with each store having particular coins and 24 total coins. the coins are metal. supposed to be nice. i haven't heard of parallel foil cards yet.
Although not in the States myself I heard some people have found the cards in some stores on other boards.
I would still like to know more about these retail exclusives. Topps still haven't released this info on parallels and coins. I would have thought they would have up this up on their site by now?
