Every year I tend to try and get my Son-in-law something from StarWars for Christmas... This year I would like to get him StarWars on Blu-ray if it is going to be avaiable. If not is there any buzz as to if they are going to release it on Blu-ray and when?

According to digitalbits.com all they are coming out with this year are DVD box sets of the Prequel and Original Trilogies. All the material has been previously released.

No Blu-Ray for Star Wars this year and no mention of when to expect it.

You have to think they will release them on Blu-ray sooner or later. They never miss a chance to sell us something more. However, it doesn't look like it will be this year, unless they come out with them right before Christmas.

I think they will do it in a slow Star Wars year so they can still have a media event. This year they already have Clone Wars and The Force Unleashed video game. Then in a couple years will be the live action TV show. It makes sense that they would squeeze a new DVD/Blu-Ray release of all the movies between those events. Maybe fall next year will see the release of the often rumored Ultimate Box set on DVD and Blu-Ray both.
