After watching the trailer a couple of times - I'll stick with my earlier comments and say the action looks good...the story is going to be lame lame LAME.
This could have been great - imagine a "Saving Private Ryan" but in a Star Wars world: The Republic is losing the war as the clones are no match for droids (Hey George, they're frackin droids they won't get scared and run away as in AOTC). Jedi Jimmy is caught on Caprica and he holds the key to the surival of the Republic. With Confederate forces moving in on his position - Obi-Wan and crew lead a D-Day type seige on the planet to secure the Republic's survival.
Once Jimmy's information is obtained (Jimmy would have to die at the end - sorry) - the tide begins to turn in favor of the Republic. The TV series then tells of the remaining battles with a WW2 flair (IE: battle of the bulge, battle over britain, the Republic dealing with u-boats (cloaked confederate battlecruisers) disrupting forward supply lines.)
Could have been awesome..but saving Hutt's son is not awesome...just LAME.
Sorry for the rant.
My bro sent me this idea for a plot:
Another good plot would be like "Gunship down".
Have a republic gunship down in the middle of a seperatist city, meanwhile the whole republic fleet is withdrawing from the system.
All of the ground battalions disobey the order to withdraw because of the gunship down.
The fleet commander conceeds and assigns a few battalions of clones and obi-wan/anakin to save the downed crew, while the rest of the fleet withdraws.
When the rescue is made, the crew makes it to the evac point, only to find no evac is waiting for them. Turns out the fleet commander (Tarkin) saw this mission as zero chance of survivalbility and assigned zero resources for the evac.
Then new mission for obi-wan and crew is to escape from the planet, with injured clone troops.
Anakin finally makes a transmission to the fleet, and speaks to the commander, with only the words "I'm coming for you, Tarkin" a la Rambo style. Which would explain the rift between the two of them in episode 4.
