I am in the military and stationed at Spangdahlem AB in Germany. I just found out that Spangdahlem hosts a small Star Wars Con event every year for the past 5 years and this year is no different. Members from the 510st Garrison in Germany participate every year. The committee was looking for suggestions for prizes and I instantly thought of SW cards! I just arrived here recently but did not ship all of my duplicate sets (I'm kicking myself now). I am looking for any complete SW base sets that you would like to donate as well as any single/set stickers, such as the Clone Wars. These will be given out as door and contest prizes for such things as best costume, trivia winner, name the most SW characters, and the best Chewie impersonation! All donations are welcome but must arrive by 31 Oct. It takes about 1-2 weeks for mail to arrive overseas via APO address. I will also see if I can get any extra 501st cards from the Germany garrison when I meet them. If you are interested please let me know and I will send you my APO address. If you'd like some of our 2009 'Show me Your Cards' postcards, and a few smaller stickers and things, I can send a few. Just e-mail me your address info. I probably can't send any full SW sets, but I'll check and see if I still have any of the Episode One sets or something sitting around her. If I do, I'll drop them in the box as well. Someone's kid might like them.

Thanks to everyone that has responded so far! If you have single stickers (any SW set) they are welcomed as well. I appreciate it and I know the kids and kids at heart will as well. I will try to send some pictures of the event after it's over.

I've received both of your packages. Thanks for the card/sticker/etc donations, it will really mean a lot to the smallest Star Wars fans here. I will try to post pics of the event after it's over. Sorry for the long delay, got preoccupied with a few things. Thank you very much to everyone that donated items for the convention. It was a huge success and we have word that the facility we were allowed to use will be 2-3x bigger next year. The 501st German legion were awesome and really friendly. See some pics at the link below. Check out the Death Star w/Star Destroyer costume...truely original and awesome. I tought a collecting class in which I used some of the donated cards and some were given away as prizes which the kids loved. The kids wanted more and more cards even after I was all out. It was great to see that card collecting has not stopped with the younger generation.........again thank you to everyone! Oh Cathy, the site post cards went over very well and were gone in the fist hour, so hopefully we will have more collectors going the site, young and old alike. I do have some items from the event that the 501st German Legion let me have. Let me know if you want any.

Great to hear the event went well and that there are some future young card collectors out there.

Will you be doing this again for 2010? I am paring down my collections and wouldn't mind donating some sets for something like this!
