I dont know if this anyone has talked about this, however I just had a couple questions on what is being sold on well known auction site:

1. does anyone know if there is a 'hot pack' in each of the Clone Wars WV boxes.
2. are the 'hot packs' in same location in the box and what is that location.
3 is the location of the 'hot pack' different from the hobby box then the retail box??

I would like to know if anyone knows anything about these 'hot packs' before I decide to bid on them.

Each Hobby box was supposed to have a "hot" pack, but not all of them do in fact. I don't know about the Retail boxes.

I believe each one you buy will truly have a sketch or autograph card in it. No one has ever been able to understand how they can find them. I suspect they have a contact on the inside at Topps and are getting them direct, not through locating them in boxes.

Happy new year !

Here are some more info :

1. A Hot Pack is supposed to be inserted in every HOBBY box, BUT : several boxes appeared to be dud boxes (no sketch nor auto in it !). That's the reason why many Case breakers were upset about this set (you buy 8 boxes, you get 6 sketches...not good !). So, I would say "beware" if you want to buy a single box, there is a chance that you don't get the promised Sketch card. That's why unopened boxes are still so cheap... You still can complain to Topps and get a replacement sketch card if you get a dud box, but the procedure of hectic...

2. No, in this set, the Hot packs can not be located. They are randomly inserted inside the boxes during the wrapping process.

3. Careful with RETAIL boxes : the insertion ratio is only 1:48, which means 1 sketch every 2 boxes ON THE AVERAGE. Of course if you are lucky you can get one from only one box, but...

Concerning how these "hot packs" surface, there is a theory on some other forums that states it IS possible to see through packs and locate the sketch card. I'm not totally sure of this urban legend, but it's something possible, maybe ?
