Isn't anyone finding the gravity feed card packs at WalMart that contain their exclusive blue border animation cel cards? It seems like everyone has them on their "want" lists, but none on their "have" lists.

All I can say is "Wow!" Exclusive Wal-Mart blue cards packed 1:6? Exclusive Target red cards packed 1:6? Exclusive Target coins? 100+ artists for the sketch cards? I am so glad I stopped buying cards after ROTS.
I got lucky at my local Walmart. I bought two packs and ended up with two blue animation cels. I been back since, however I haven't talked myself into buying more packs. I been watched EBAY for the remaining three Walmart cards and the 5 from target, however no luck yet in completing these sets.

I finally found ONE Walmart in my area (okay, about 20 miles away) that had a gravity feed box. It was already mostly empty. I bought the remaining 29 packs.
I got a total of ZERO blue cel cards. Not one.
I also didn't tend to get 7 cards per pack. Though one pack had 9 cards.
About 1/5 packs had a security device inside. Very easy to feel for those, so I doubt they actually prevent theft. But they do cause the check out people to scan EVERY pack instead of taking a count and scanning once.
Packs with a security device never had a chase card. And were much more likely to be short on base cards too. I think maybe 1 in 3 packs were short cards (sometimes by quite a few actually). I mostly got FOILS as my chase cards. Complete waste of money to have tried for the blue cel cards.
I can only guess that the gravity boxes are packed in some manner that makes cherry picking possible, and this box had already been cherry picked for the blue cel cards. A darned shame really.
Of 5 other Walmart stores I've visited (3 of which carry cards), none had the Clone Wars cards.

I was just reading the other day about cherry picking on NSU's cardtalk. Seems the type pf gravity feed Topps use is easy to cherry pick. Also seems that stores turn a blind eye to it as well. In some cases store employees are in on the act. Very sad.
Nice to know they are slowly making there way out there.
Cathy, sorry to hear about your bad experience. What are these security devices? I bought 18 packs at a WalMart and none of them had anything like that in them. The cashier just counted them up, scanned one and entered the number, and had no problem. I only got two blue cels from the 18, where the odds say it should be three, but that isn't really out of line.

Well I just bought two gravity packs at a Walmart yesterday, one had the security device one did not. Both had animation cel cards(wish all my pack buys were that way ) .Not quite sure the purpose of having the device on a card inside the pack.Brett

It is basically a plain white card, but at one end it has one of those plastic bars stuck on it. You know, the sort that make the door alarm beep because it's magnetic.
VERY silly to secure individual packs IMHO.
The card boxes are near a register, and frankly, you can FEEL the security pack if you know it might be there. So if you are a nasty thief, this isn't going to stop you!
I'm just annoyed that my one chance to find the blue cel cards, the stupid box had already been cherry picked. It doesn't seem likely that I'll find another store with the cards in my area. Quite a shame.
Cathy, there are two full sets of the WalMart blue cels on eBay right now. One ends today and one in a couple of days. The prices seem to have settled down, so this might be a good way for you to get a set. Not as much fun as pulling them from packs, but maybe more effective.

Well in all fairness it might catch a snatch and go grab,I did not even realize that the device was in the pack till I sat down to open the pack, but why only some of the packs not all of them?Brett

I agree, not having the bonus cards in the bonus boxes doesnt make any sense to me. (however I bet someone at topps is smiling over that). If the bonus cards were in the bonus boxes, I would have been buying a ton of them. Now I rely on EBAY for filling in the holes.

The WalMart gravity feed packs have odds of 1:6 for both the blue cels and the white cels. With 15 packs your odds were to get 2.5 blues and 2.5 whites. So in total your 5 cels was right on the button. Nice that you got the bigger number for the blue cels and the smaller for the white.
